Our biggest event of the year is the RoMac Contractor Night, which has become the premier event for contractors, builders, and remodelers in Central Florida. It was an incredible opportunity for students from Leesburg High School, The Villages Charter School, and Wildwood Middle-High School to engage with potential employers in the construction industry.

Kicking off the day with a power-packed breakfast featuring none other than baseball Hall-of-Famer, Cal Ripken, Jr., was a grand slam! His insights on dedication, teamwork, and perseverance were a true home run.

The Lake 100 Executive panel discussion on "Lake County's Obstacles for Building Workforce
Housing" left us with thought-provoking insights and questions to ponder.
Do we need to rethink housing codes to drive down costs? Where can we effectively and affordably house our growing workforce? Considering land scarcity—after all, 'God isn't creating any more dirt'—how do we make the most of what we have?
Danielle Stroud, Al Minner, Joe Ziler, and Dan Tatro voiced their challenges, from regulatory hurdles to the rising interest rates affecting the affordability for potential buyers. But the conversation didn't stop at identifying problems. It also sparked discussions on how Lake 100 community business people can contribute to solutions.
This event was an enlightening step towards understanding and tackling the workforce housing crisis in Lake County. Let's keep this crucial conversation going!
