RoMac Building Supply Deemed Essential Business during Florida’s Stay-at-Home Order
On Behalf of Don Magruder, CEO of RoMac Building Supply
Dear RoMac Building Supply Contractors, Subcontractors, Customers, and Employees
Based on our interpretation of the Stay-at-Home Order signed by Governor Ron DeSantis today, RoMac Building Supply is an essential business, which can continue to operate as long as we follow the Social Distancing Guidelines of the Centers for Disease Control & Prevention. It is our plan to continue offering our full line of services and operate our normal business hours. Contractors and tradesmen are also listed as essential services as well as construction sites.
Please find below information concerning the construction industry.
Governor DeSantis has just issued Executive Order 20-91 implementing a Stay-at-Home Order for the month of April. However, “essential businesses” are allowed to remain open. When it comes to construction, there are four specific exemptions:
- Hardware stores;
- Contractors and other tradesmen, appliance repair personnel, exterminators, and other service providers who provide services that are necessary to maintaining the safety, sanitation, and essential operation of residences and other structures;
- Open construction sites, irrespective of the type of building; and
- Architectural, engineering, or land surveying services.
Of course, for those of us who are able to remain open under the Essential Services Exemption, it’s even more important than ever that we practice good hygiene and social distancing procedures.
The full Executive Order can be found here.
