RoMac Building Supply Welcomes James O’Mara as Chief Operating Officer

We are pleased to announce that James O’Mara has joined RoMac Building Supply as our new Chief Operating Officer and a member of the executive leadership team.

James brings a proven track record of operational leadership and execution in complex, high-growth environments. Throughout his career, he has led large teams, managed significant P&L responsibility, and driven impactful transformation initiatives—including work with Fortune 500 organizations.

His professional experience spans leadership roles at a fast-growing defense technology company, private equity-backed construction services businesses, and McKinsey & Company, where he specialized in mergers, integrations, and operational performance improvement. This diverse background equips him with a unique ability to bridge strategy and execution—an asset that will be instrumental as RoMac continues to grow.

Before transitioning to the corporate world, James served for more than a decade in the Army Special Operations as a Green Beret. In that role, he led teams in high-stakes environments, developing a disciplined, mission-driven leadership style that continues to define his approach today.

James holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of Central Florida, an MBA from MIT, and a Master of International Administration from the University of Miami. He is widely recognized for his hands-on, roll-up-your-sleeves leadership style—combining frontline engagement with strategic vision—and for his deep respect and passion for blue-collar work and building high-performing teams.

James, his wife Noelle, and their two children are relocating from Coral Gables and are excited to become part of the local community.

In his role as COO, James will report directly to executive leadership and will play a critical role in leading operations across the organization. He will also be a key driver in advancing RoMac’s smart growth initiatives as we continue to scale and strengthen our business.
