About the Job
We are seeking an energetic and detail-oriented Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager to lead lead safety, health, and environmental programs across multiple sites, ensuring world-class compliance, proactive risk management, and a culture of safety excellence. You’ll partner with teams to design, execute, and continuously improve safety strategies that protect people, protect the environment, and drive organizational success.
Responsibilites
Lead safety program execution: conduct regular safety meetings, audits, and inspections; identify gaps, implement corrective actions, and drive timely follow-up assessments.
Build and deliver training: design and deploy preventative care, safety, and compliance training that elevate knowledge and practical application on site.
Maintain robust EHS programs: plan, implement, manage, and continuously improve comprehensive environmental, safety, and health programs across on-site and project locations.
Advise and provide expert health and safety oversight to ensure we meet industry, local, state, and federal requirements; reinforce best practices in all activities.
Lead emergency readiness: collaborate with management to develop Emergency Action Plans; serve as primary contact for injury and incident notification, investigation, and case management; maintain a thorough log of inspections, reports, and communications.
Provide technical safety support: support managers with hazard assessments, control strategies, and compliance interpretations.
Report and communicate progress: regularly update leadership on safety performance, risk trends, and project status.
Be an on-site safety ambassador: maintain a visible, proactive presence at project sites; participate in team meetings and lead by example.
Qualifications
Proactive risk assessment and risk management expertise
Strong understanding of administrative policies and procedures
Construction and Lumber yard industry experience
Knowledge of controls and cost management
Conceptual planning and strategic problem-solving capabilities
Proven leadership, with ability to inspire and influence cross-functional teams
Excellent multi-tasking, prioritization, and time management
Effective communication, meeting facilitation, and presentation skills
Comfortable with time reporting systems and data-driven decision making
Education, Experience, and Certifications
High school diploma or equivalent required
Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Health, Engineering, or a related discipline preferred
Minimum 5-8 years of large-scale commercial, government, or industrial management experience, including at least 2 years in a safety leadership role
Current certifications in First Aid/CPR
OSHA 30-hour Construction Safety and Industry Standards certification
